MOTANKA - in Ukrainian history - a doll associated with the rite of fertility and procreation, had a sacred meaning for the family. It was used in harvest rituals and wedding ceremonies. During the 20th century the MOTANKA doll gradually lost its magical properties. We propose to revive the presence of the MOTANKA in modern Ukrainian life as an amulet.
